This site is a hub. Most of what Hounds & Jackals makes lives somewhere else, and this page exists to point you there. That keeps what happens here simple, and this page short.
What this site does not do
There are no comments. There are no accounts and nothing to register for. Nothing is sold here. No advertising is served, and no information about you is sold, rented or traded to anyone.
The contact address on this site is an ordinary email link. If you write, your message and your address arrive in my inbox and stay there. I use them to reply to you and for nothing else. I do not add anyone to a mailing list from an email they sent me.
Fonts
The typefaces used here are stored on this site’s own server rather than fetched from Google. Your browser never contacts Google to display this page.
Embedded players and videos
Some pages carry embedded material from other services, such as YouTube and Bandcamp. An embed is a small window onto that other service, which means your browser talks to them directly. They can see your address, they can set cookies, and if you are signed in to them they may know it is you. This happens whether or not you press play.
Their policies govern that, not this one. Plain links out to other sites do nothing until you click them.
Buying things
Purchases happen on other platforms, chiefly DriveThruRPG for games and books and Bandcamp for music. Payment and account information is handled entirely by them and never reaches this site. The newsletter runs on Substack and is governed by Substack’s terms.
Server logs
Like every website, this one runs on a server that records requests: the address you connected from, the page you asked for, the time, and what browser you used. It is standard hosting practice and is used for security and for keeping the site working. It is kept for about 30 days and then discarded according to Siteground.
Children
Nothing here is directed at children, and no information is knowingly collected from them.
Your information
If you want to know what is held about you, or want it deleted, write and ask. It will be a short conversation, because the answer is usually an email you sent me and nothing else.

If this changes, the date below changes with it.
